Jakpur is a small village in west midnapore district .This small village helps the govt. to earn foreign exchange. This village is well known in the world map for the supply of 1000 different variety of roses. As this village is beside our town Kharagpur,so I can watch during my train journey .I heard about the jakpur nursery during my school days ,when my sister went there for school excursion on biology. When I search in google for my job related work suddenly I got shocked to get the search result of jakpur .Then I decied to write the article about this world famous rose garden. Kharagpurmylove is based on the information about kharagpur and near about. My aim to inform rest of the world that kharagpur is not only famous for long platform, but there is many other famous area in kharagpur and near about.

In jakpur there is 60-70 flower nursery and most of them produce different variety of roses, these variety include all the old or natural variety as well as the cross breed or hybrid variety. Here the thousand different varieties are growing. Some nursery like pushpanjali is twenty-five years old. These nurseries are using most advance technique, by the support of some western countries like UK. These nursery supplies 1.5 to 2 million rose plants across the country and abroad.

Jakpur is now known as the rose capital of the state West Bengal. Not only the flower cultivation but also the view attracts different visitors from near about area.

I show you some interesting pictures in this article of kharagpurmylove. You also visit this place on anytime, it is better to visit in morning or evening or in winter. Jakpur is hardly take 15 to 20 minutes .In local train after crossing the highway overbridge, you can enter the jakpur area. Auto and buses also available for jakpur from kharagpur bus stand.

Rathyatra and Jagannaath Puja in Kharagpur

In kharagpur there is many rath yatra organized by different area like malancha and  inda but the famous yatra organized by the jaganaath mandir commity every year from 1988.In the year of 1988 god jaganaath,Balram and subhadra’s idols establish in the temple with all ritual .From 1988 to 2001 rathyatra organized with only a single chariot but from 2002 onward number of chariots increase to three. During the rath yatra a mela also organized near the temple and thousands of people from kharagpur and near about reach to take part in this festival. It’s my destiny that from last few years unable to attend this festival as because of my job.

From 2003 onwards special arrangement made for ladies to pull goddess subhadra’s chariot .Many cultural programme was also organized by mandir commity in this occasion like: odissi dance, Bharatnatyam, Kuchipudi, Vangra etc.
