God Jagganath, Balvadra and Suvadra in Kharagpur Jagganath temple 2015
Jagganath rath yatra was one of the main celebrations in our town because there are good numbers of oriya people here. I was watching raath mela from my childhood .At first there was only Jagganath mandir committee organized raath yatra in kharagpur but now some other area also organized this yatra for local area but main attraction was Jagganath mandir committee of kharagpur new settlement area. In our town three chariots prepare for this festival but few years back only one chariot was built when the present temple was not came into existence.
Now Jagganath temple one of the well maintain and well organized temple under jagganath temple committee guideline. The Jagganth mandir of new settlement was one of the replicas of main Jagganath temple of puri.
This time rath yatra inauguration was fine but due to huge rainfall from next days people stay in their home.
As in this post I was also show some other area’s raath yatra.
Mela was also organized in attached area where different small shops for handicrafts, food items etc.came there. This mela gave great opportunity for kharagpurian to spend times with their friends and families.
As due to heavy rain this year people stay in home but still huge people gather to pull the chariot of lord Jagganath ,Balvadra and suvadra.
In kharagpur other than Jagganth temple new settlement Talbagicha also organized rath yatra.I was show some picture from other district and locality of wesbengal like Basudevpur, kakdeep, bagnan, Kolkata and Durgapur.
