Today I am informing you about Jhargram Raj Family.This  family came into existence when Maan Singh from rajasthan came to conquer Jungalkhand with the permission of Akbar the great.He defeate malla dynasty of this region. He appointed his subordinate Raja Sarveswar Singh as king of this area and his elder brother appointer king of Bishnupur.He declared Jhargram as his capital. Later on in 1767Jhargram king defeated by East India company and allowed permission to hold the position in exchange of taxation on regular basis.

Raja SARVESHWAR MALLA UGAL SANDA DEB:He is founder of this Jhargram royal family.He was from Kshtriya Chandra Vansha Chauhan. His capital (Jhargram) surrounded by walls and canals,so he got the name of Ugal Sanda (hero within the walls),and this was added with all kings from this dynasty.

Raja Vikram Malla Ugal Sanda Deb: He was next ruler from this dynasty.

Raja BHIM MALLA UGAL SANDA DEB: He became king after Raja Vikram Malla Ugal Sanda Deb.

Raja PRITHVI MALLA UGAL SANDA DEB : He became king after king  after BHIM MALLA UGAL SANDA DEB.

Raja SANSAR MALLA UGAL SANDA DEB: He became king after king after PRITHVI MALLA UGAL SANDA DEB.

Raja CHAKKU MALLA UGAL SANDA DEB:  He became king after king after king SANSAR MALLA UGAL SANDA DEB.

Raja GADADHAR MALLA UGAL SANDA DEB :  He became king after king  after King CHAKKU MALLA UGAL SANDA DEB.

Raja SHATRUGHNA MALLA UGAL SANDA DEB :  He became king after king  after GADADHAR MALLA UGAL SANDA DEB.

Raja VIKRAMADITYA MALLA UGAL SANDA DEB : He became king after king  after King SHYAM SUNDAR MALLA UGAL SANDA DEB. King VIKRAMADITYA MALLA UGAL SANDA DEB has son name was Narayan Malla Ugal Sanda Deb he got married but died  so small son Raja Raghunath Malla Ugal Sanda Deb became the king. He was a famous minor so court appoint guardian to lookafter him. He was educated FA from this dense forest area. He was sixteenth generation from this family. 

He was extraordinary wrestler and his wrestling instruments were kept in Kolkata museum. He married with Raj Kumari Raj Lakshmi Devi оf Silda. He donates thousand bigha lands to poor and needy family. Raja Chandi Charan Malla Ugal Sanda Deb became king after Raghunath Malla Ugal Sanda Deb. He died when his son Raja Sir Narasingha Malla Ugal Sanda Deb small. Raja Sir Narasingha Malla Ugal Sanda Deb was minor when his father died so district magistrate of Midnapore manage the raj property till he adult. He was completing his schooling from collegiate school in Midnapore later move to Presidancy College Calcutta. He was elected as second Member of Parliament from Midnapore in Independent India. He awarded as Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire (KBE).He married first Rani Binod Manjuri Devi, died 1945.Rani Binod Manjuri Devi was daughter of Lalsaheb Girish Chandra Bhanj Deo of Mayurbhanj.

He made second marriage with Rani Rupamanjuri Devi and had one son and three daughters. During his time Jhargram developed as town many education institutes build here and Raj parivar bear all the expenses to run that entire institute.

Kumud Kumari Institution (K.K.I), Agriculture college later this named as Raj college, Vidyasagar Polytechnic Institute, Sarada Vidyapith etc. Binode Manjuri Govt. Girl's School renamed by Chief Minister of West Bengal and this was the best school in West Bengal. He was also a good sportsman and hunter. He won many trophies in this. He was also a good photo grapher and won many prize in Switzerland, Russia, Singapore and Thailand. He became king in 1920 and died in 1976 in Kolkata. Shri Birendra Bijoy Malla Deb became king after Narsingha malla and join politics after finishing his college.

He won Jhargram MLA seat three times .He was good criketer and lead his team  from school to till college life.He open new family business to cope with new modern trend. Shri Birendra Bijoy Malla Deb married with rajkumari ndira Devi  of sone pur Orissa.She was a shy lady but support his husband in every step of her life. She died in 1997 and raja Birendra Bijoy Malla Deb in 2000. Birendra Bijoy Malla Deb had two son and two daughters(Raja Shivendra Bijoy Malla Deb аnd Kumar Joydeep Malla Deb аnd twо daughters Radharani аnd Rajshree).Both sons run their family business.Shivendra married to Jyoti Devi оf Balarampur Royal family Orissa and Joydeep married to  Priti Devi daughter оf Rao Sahab Shankareshwar Pratap Singh оf Rampur Naikin, Rewa, Madhya Pradesh. Sivendra has one son named Vikramaditya Malladeb,and Joydeep has one son Harshvardhan Malla Deb аnd а daughter Rajnandini Malla Deb.

Kharagpur assembaly and Midnapur Parliamentary seat

It is very interesting story, which I am going to tell my audience. Kharagpur comes under west Midnapur districts in West Bengal. This parliamentary seat was playing a crucial role before independence and after independence. After independence most of times this seat won by the Indian National Congress and left some time national parties are also perform well here. Bhartiya Janta Party three times becomes the runner-up party from here. First I  want to clear that I am not a specific party supporter nor interested in this stupid politics. My main object is to inform my readers about this place political history. Midnapur Parliamentary seat is composed of Kharagpur,Dantan,Egra,Kharagpur Sadar,Keshiary,Narayanpur.

Midnapur prior to it’s division in two part east and west Midnapore this was the bigger than many European countries. So, maintain administrative situation this district divide in west and east Midnapur.

In first parliamentary election in India, Jansangha candidate Durga Charan Baerjee won the seat in 1951.He beat his nearest candidate by 50000 votes.

He was educated from Midnapore College, Scottish Church College and Calcutta University.  But after his death this seat was won by Bharat Lal Tudu from Indian National Cogress in 1952.   

Narasingha Malla Ugal Sanda Deb was won the Midnapore seat on 1957 election. He was the king from Jhargram raj family and completed his education from Presidency College Kolkata.

He got   1,94,817 votes and beating Shri Rabindra Nath Mitra .1,55,005, Shri Amiya Krishna Khan .   62,171.

Gobinda Kumar Singhu : Indian nation congress candidate won this seat in 1962 by defeating CPI candidate soroj roy. He got 131291    Soroj Roy    M    CPI    93872.

S.N.Maity 1967: During this time congress lost his glory due to curroption. Midnapore seat won by Bangla cogress S.N. Maity by defeating congress candidate. S. N. Maity    got 185407 and his rival    G. K. Singha     from congress 142124.

Subodh Chandra  Hasda 1971: He won this seat by defeating narayan chobey of CPI.
Subodh Chandra  Hasda Indian National congress  got 140326, Choubey Narayan   CPI got 118317.

Sudhir  Kumar Ghosal 1977:Sudhir Kumar Ghosal was won the 1977 parliamentary election on Bhartiya  Lok Dal  ticket.BLD formed after emergency to gave tuff fight against congress atrocity during emergency. Sudhir beat cpi candidate Narayan chobey.

Indrajit Gupta Comunist Party of India candidate won seven times from (1980,1984,1989,1991,1996,1998,1999)midnapur seat by defeating congress candidate every time.He was become union home minister in united front govt. from 1996-1998.

Except 1998 and 1999 when he defeat BJP candidate most of time he defeat congress candidate in this seat.
After the death of Indrajit gupta Probodh panda elected from Midnapur west seat on 2001,2004 and 2009.In 2001 he defeat BJP candidate and 2004,2009 Trinmool candidate.

Now I am coming to Kharagpur assembaly seat .Kharapur assembaly seat won by Muhammad Momtaz Moulana  from Indian National Congress by defeating Bhartiya Jan Sangha candidate.In 1957,1962 and 1967 Narayan Choubey from CPI won kharagpur assembaly seat three times and defeat congress candidate in 1962 and 1967 he defeat Gyan singh sohanpal in kharagpur .

Narayan Choubey was the father of late Goutam Choubey and Manas choubey.He is BSC graduate  from Calcutta university and president of many labour union from kharagpur.He visiting different socialist countries like:USSR,East Germany and Algiriya.He is simple socialist and easy to deal with.

After Narayan Choubey an era of Chacha came.This chacha is not other than Gyan singh sohanpal .Gyan singh sohanpal won kharagpur assembaly seat before my birth to till today.I don’t have knowledge about any other politician won any seat as much time.He is now 89 years old bachelor and most senior MLA .He was minister in state govt. in 1969 he became minister of jail and later on became transport minister.He won the assembly seat in 1969, 1971 and 1972 .Again in 1982,87,91,96,2001,06,11.

Only in 1977 after emergency and congress autrocity jantaparty candidate Sudhir Dassharma won kharagpur seat.

Dhoni: A story of a Ticket collector from Kharagpur

It is well known fact that Mahendra Singh Dhoni is belong from Ranchi Jharkhand, but the Cricketer Dhoni start his career from a small railway town Kharagpur as a ticket collector.

Unable to  find a Job in Ranchi ,he went to kharagpur in 2001 through sport quota to get a job .Satya Prakash Krishna his team mate from Jharkhand introduce him with late Animesh Kumar Ganguly, Divisional Railway Manager on that time. He got a ticket collector job in Kharagpur in SERly.
Now the Ganguly family shifted to Kolkata. On that time S.E.RLY. Cricket team needs a wicketkeeper batsman. Late Mr.Animesh kumar Ganguly took Dhoni to SERSA stadium and checked him for 60 deliveries to check his batting ability and after that appoint him as a ticket collector.

Dhoni share his room with Robin kumar, who was the captain of S.E.Rly. Team on that time and one more friend Dipak singh.

Dhoni comes to DRM’s bunglow’s lawn every day for cricket practice with their team mates. Dhoni called mummy to Subhra Ganguly, who is wife of late Mr.Animesh kumar Ganguly  . Ganguly family’s other members also liked Dhoni.

Animesh daughter’s was so friendly with Dhoni some time she used to comb his hair. Dhoni was regular on dining table with DRM family’s.

Dhoni was addend’s Animesh’s daughter’s marriage on 2007 in Kolkata .Dhoni showed first time his leadership skill in 2002 for his local team Durga sporting (local team from kharagpur) in winter. In that six over tennis ball match at goalkholi ground his team bowled out at only 30 runs due to some wrong umpire decisions. His team wants to quite game due to wrong decision, but Dhoni intervene and manage the team to use all his energies in bowling and last Durga sporting able to draw the match and winner decided by toss. Mahender singh dhoni’s team durga sporting won this match in toss, this was his first leadership skill, through which his team won the game. This was the first miracle by Dhoni.Mahi was also used to bowl on that time.

When Sourav Ganguly played as Indian captain and Yurajsingh was the young talent of Indian team, on that time Dhoni played for Sangha shree another local team from kharagpur with tennis ball.
He never charged any remuneration from this club, he just played as because his other colleagues attach with these local teams. But later on he charged rs2000for each match and become the most expensive tennis ball player from kharagpur town.

Khargpur town had fond memories of Dhoni .Citizens from Kharagpur watched him cycling, sipping tea in road side shop and playing cricket in kharagpur grounds.
He has playing for tennis ball tournament in Traffic ground, BNR ground, Silver Jublee School and Hijli high school ground, Golkholi ground. He won the first man of the match trophy in tennis ball tournament in Panskura and got the trophy from Bengal team spinner Shiv Shankar singh on 2002. Dhoni is fond of bike he used to ride bike, when he went for tennis ball tournament in Mecheda, Digha and near about places.
