In west Bengal Bishnupur known as temple towns but I think in the modern time this was partiality with kharagpur.in Kharagpur there are many more temple compare to Bishnupur.In Kharagpur you got variation in architecture as well as art and theme of all temple.Here you can get temple made on North Indian ,Bengali architecture as well as south Indian style but in Bishnupure there was only same style of architecture available in every temple.There was no south Indian architecture or style found in Bishnupur temple.I was not supporting this just because I was belongs from Kharagpur. If any one want he or she can easily got the difference by watching temple from both this town.
I was unable to give you exact number of temple in Kharagpur because in kharagpur every 5 to 10 meter distance there was a temple some places the distance might be some more .

This post was just extension of that and also want to give some more information about history of our town’s temples.
In kharagpur you can find you can find different god and goddess temple which was not possible to found in any other place or town in India. In kullu there was 1000 different god and goddess worship but there was not 1000 temple for each god or goddess. In Hindu religion there was 330 million god and goddess worship and in kharagpur also you can find many temples for different god and goddess.Shiv,Durga and kali temple are found in every locality of this town other than this you can foundRam,hnuman,Vishwakarma,Kanakdurga,sai,Satyasai,Balaji,Samshan kali,Shani,Shitla,Solapuri Mata,Ayappaswami,Bhim,Hirimba (wife of bheem),mansa,santoshi,saraswati,mahabir jain mandir etc.
I was not able to show you each and every temple of town but still give you information most of main temples from town.
Why I was writing on temple was also a interesting story .On 31 January 2015 I came to kharagpur from Kolkata and went to golebazar for shopping in morning .On my way to golebazar from old settlement area I was watching three new temple. I was already watch these temple from 2 years back but due to scarcity of time not able to take snaps from this temple.On my return journey I went to two of these temple one was new Hanuman temple of old settlement and other was Balaji temple of old settlement.
Hanuman temple was simple but most interesting part was Saraswati temple within the hanuman temple premises.this was my new experience in town.i was never see any saraswati temple in our town so this was one of my unique experience on last week.

Just beside this temple there was Venkateshwar balaji temple.I was most of time visit Malancha Balaji temple from my schooling time but first time went to old settlement balaji temple.The area of this temple was definitely small compare to Balaji mandir of malancha but decoration and architecture of this new temple was really marvellous.
This was south indian architecture mixed with north and Bengali architecture touch.In malanacha balaji mandir dome was made in artistic way and all god and goddess statue was made in dome of each temple within the temple premises.
In old settlement only some statue made on front of dome and most of the statue was made within the temple.
In kharida also a balaji temple but this temple was but maintain properly as like other balaji temple in town.
In my next post I show you some temple from town which built 200 to 300 years ago ,and still exist in kharagpur town.
