I was started my blog on 2013 and try to give all related information about kharagpour and near about area. I was cover most of the kharagpur but I was made a drastic mistake, I was not able to show you culture heritage and way of living of people from Salua. Salua is part of Kharagpur town but in many respects this area was different .Most of people are Nepali and who are migrated from Nepal or come from hill area. They lived in this area from last two three generations. People started living in this area before independence. East Indian Company started East Frontier Force on second half of 18 century. Eastern Frontier Rifle name given at 1920 .This force participate in world war 1 and world war 2 under British and later independence participate in every major war as well as against naxalite movement in West Bengal and Mizoram. On 1947 this battalion sifted from Dacca to Hijali and then move to Salua khjaragpur on 1951.Salua was not only the EFR base but also one of the main Air Force Base in East India. This air base operating from Second World War when the American B2 bombers use this base to fight against Japanese .After independence this base was used as Radar station base for Indian Air force. Main habitats of this area are Nepalese whose parents and relatives worked in Eastern Frontier Rifle, other than Nepali there are Bengalis as well as other religion and communities are also lived here. Salua was 12 km distance from Kharagpur main station. Eastern Frontier Rifle was operating under West Bengal police and responsible for every internal security maintenance.

Nepali people of Salua had rich cultural heritage and they maintain their ritual and culture here in Salua. This small part of Kharagpur town has rich greenery and open space and mostly people loved peace compare to other part of Kharagpur there was no big violence or crime heard in this area.This area has also a good number of reputed CBSE,ICSE and WBSE affiliated school like: AFS salua Kendriya Vidyalaya, DAV ,Andour School etc. Mainly the youth of this area join Indian Army, Bengal police and some has choose Hotel and Hospitality industries.

On Navami Eastern Frontier Forces organised Buffalo bali on the Eve of Durgapuja and on the next day they were enjoyed Vijaya dashmi on Nepali tradition wearing Nepali dress. You can get the best fast food like Momo and chawming and noodles in salua and near about restaurant. Many girls and Boys from Salua also participate in modelling as well as music .Our state karate champion from Salua and we proud for it but I am sure many people don’t know about this.
