Jhargram mela was basically a agricultural development and promotion mela organised by Jangalmahal agriculture development authority and West Bengal Agricultural ministry for promotion of agriculture.

Every year this mela organised in Jhargram. This festival gave people an opportunity to see the tribal culture and ritual nearby. From my childhood I watch this festival this was also known as Exhibition mela because farmers shown their different agricultural products and farm produced items in this fair. Here you can watch different varieties of hybrid plants and products .This event gave an opportunity to cottage industries to show their products to town people and judge, which also help them to get new business. Many NGOes and welfare societies participate in this event. In this year this program organised at Kumud kumari Institution auditorium in Jhargram from 5th January 2016 to 9th January 2016.
Except farming and cottage industries products, other main attraction in this function was tribal dance and folk music by local tribal groups. This platform gave them an opportunity to show there rich culture to rest of the world.
Bollowood and tollywood singer and musicians also came here to perform. Jhargram mela was one of the main cultural even in west medinipur district. I was really recommend to our town people to went there with their children ,which help them to know the rich culture of this district also help them to know the tribal way of living.
