Sarasvati puja happened in all parts of India but mainly the craze for this puja is in west Bengal. From my childhood me and my sister decorating our home and place our book and doing sarasvatipuja with fruits and flowers. We take our breakfast after finishing puja. We also went to our school or tuition where Sarasvati puja done by priest. We give homage in this puja there and getting sweet packets after puja.

In this day we were not study whole day because our mom told us in our childhood that our book are representative of goddess Sarasvati which need rest at least one day in a year so after puja we not touch our book that day and whole day we spent with full masti. We didn’t know what the reality behind this tradition but was as because this related with education so we never argue and till my student life never read or study in this day .I was also not read a newspaper in sarasvatipuja. One more interesting thing related with puja was ,when we was student there was some misconception that some of our friends believe that one fruit nut also known as Kool or ber which came in market from January was first giving to goddess Sarasvati than ate by student otherwise Sarasvati will never provide blessing .

In our home one Indian dish khichuri made with different vegetable fry and definitely sweet or desert also made.

Saraswatipuja mainly done in School College and institution but in Bengal this puja also organised by local club basically the Bengali area .In our child hood we participate in gaterpara and kumarpara Sarasvati puja. These club organised puja for three or four days, first day only puja ceremony organised from next day different cultural and dance program organised by these local club.

One more attraction was our school and college girl wearing saree bengoli girls wearing tradition bengoli white and red or tant saree and they look nice in this special occasion.

In school celebration only finished in a day but local club are organised puja  celebration for three days. Main attraction was gaterpara,kumarpara,Newsettlement,two three places in inda and Jhapatapur.
