Poush mela was organized from 1888 by trust to show rest of world about local handicrafts and goods .This festival was organized on 7 of poush month as per bengoli calendar.

I liked the atmosphere over here; Shantiniketan means peaceful home .The national poet of Indian Rabindranath Tagore built this institution. This Institution was based on old vedic gurukul system. The main theme of this institution to provide education within nature. There is no concrete building for classes. Teacher gives education beneath the tree. The surrounding is also covered with dense tree and plants. This is the best place to concentrate for study. The main stream in this institution is art and culture. There are different festival organized in this institution in different part of year .Poush mela is one of them. Here you can watch this great institution. As per my information, this is only one institute in India for providing education in such a way.

The atmosphere is also help to student to find the internal artist .It is well known fact that you can realize your internal beauty if you are able to come in such place, which is far away from city crowed , noise  and pollution.

I was already decided before to come in this place but not getting time .On 25 December I was getting only one day leave so I decide to go shantiniketan .I catch train from Howrah to bolepur in morning.

When I reached  to shantiniketan I got confused because shantiniketan was not same as like other big institution in Bengal.

I was seeing, IIt kharagpur, IIM  Kolkata but shantiniketan was totally different. There is not so much security or building as like other college of institution had.

People from near about area as well as from Kolkata and other places from westbengal came to watch the poush mela festival. There were different handicrafts items sold in different shops and stall. Different food stall are also there. Main attraction of this fair was tribal dance performed by local tribes. They were come in tradition dress with different tribal ornaments.

This was really a different experience for me I would return back but the memory of this unique festival was still alive.

Flower fair from Jakpur

As per last year, this time  I was showing some beautiful snaps of this year flower show. Last time this was happen in kharagpur and this time this was happen in Jakpur. Jakpur is also known as rose capital of West Bengal.

In my last post also you can watch this beautiful village.

Jakpur is a small village and here are many nurseries grow different variety of rose and different flowers. These flowers exported to foreign countries also.

Pusph pardarshani a general far organized to promote nursery production of different flowers and plants. In this fair you can watch different varieties of flowers and plants. Most of the participants are from kharagpur, madpur and jakpur area. This time I can’t say more because the beautiful flower tell the whole story.
