A temple town of West Bengal:Bishnupur


As season come for picnic .Now I am giving some interesting place for picnic. In this series today  am presenting Bishnupur ,which is well known for its architectural and terracotta templates and bildings.This area was governed by the hindu ruler ,who is ruled under the samudragupta .This area was capital of mallah king of mallabhum. King Raghunath and veer singha of mallah dynasty made this town as main centre of culture in Bengal. Total population of this area is 62000 approx, male and female are 50% of the population, literacy rate is 69%.This area is connected with howrah and kharagpur through rail and road way. This is comes in South Eastern railway. Statebus service also connects this area from rest Bengal and Kolkata. Main attraction of this place is:
Rasmancha:



This is a unique temple built by bricks.This temple constructed in 1600AD by king veer hambir. This is the oldest temple of this area.

Jorebangla Temple of Keshto Rai:




This temple built by mallah king raghunath singh in 1655.This temple decorated by terracotta  scupculture, which showing the different stages of life.

Pancha Ratna Temple of Shyam Rai:




This temple constructed by king raghunath singh of mallah dynasty in 1643 AD.

Madanmohan Temple:


This teple was constructed by king durjan singh deo and 1694AD.This temple was maily built for family deity of king(Radha and Krisha).Architecture is marvels, Ramayana and Mahabharta epic seen created in the wall.

 This tunnel was built by royal family to escape during adverse condition

These are the large water tanks, which built to protect town from enemy by mallah kings .These reservoirs are giving a great look to the near about area.
