I am going to present you some amazing and unknown festival
of kharagpur. Kharagpur is also known as mini india. There are different
communities and religion people are lived together here, so definitely all of
them have celebrated their own festival.

festivals some of them already told to you but still there are other festival
over here.
Folk Dance in Ekadashi by milkman community

In Ekadashi nonbengoli milkman community of town has organized a dance festival .
In this occasion people worship their cows. The milkman community tie a colourful garland made from jute in cow neck. They also play flock song and dance in this time. I was watching this from my child hood this ritual are dyeing with time only some old milkmen are come in this occasion in twenty years back there were ten milkmen’s with tradition dress and with different instruments came but now there are hardly three four people came with drum and wearing simple Indian dress. The glory of this festival lost with time. Now most of the people are using packet milk so they are not interested to rear a cow. This is the main reason that milkmen community will look after for another source of Income. In my video you can watch and hear this flock music. Picture quality was not so good due to night and low light, but still my video help you to understand.
One more old festival which performs in kharagpur was goura gouri puja. This festival conducted after Dipawali .Chhattisgarhi community of town basically doing this puja. Gatarpara and bhagwannpur was main area where this puja organised, but with change of time his festival also lost from town.

Nimpura Gurudawra in Kharagpur
Kartik Purnima: This is equally important for
every community in town. Telgu, Punjabi, north Indian and bengoli all have
celebrate this. Kartik purnima also known as guru purnima or gurunanak birthday
so in this festival sikh community went to gurudawra also organize
prabhatpheri.
Prabhatpehi is religious program where jathedar or sikh pujari move to different part of town and also sung Gurubani. As there are two gurudwara in town where lunger arrange in this festival .Gurudawara decorated with lights.
People also went to chandrakona road gurudawara in this festival.
