Bramhotsav is celebrated in every Balaji temple in kharagpur. It believed that Brahma worship lord Vishnu avtar Balaji for thanking him for rearing mankind. As this utsav was organised by Lord Brahma so this festival got the name of Brahmotsav. Every year from last 16 years this festival organised in Balaji temple of Malancha. As this festival also organised in other balaji temple of town like Old settlement balaji temple, development area and Kharagpur railway station balaji temple, but biggest celebration was organised in Malancha balaji temple where priest were come from south India for this festival. In 2015 from 6 November to 10 November this festival organised by malancha balaji temple committee and temple decorated with flowers and light.

It was also believe that Brahmotsav was celebration when Lord Vishnu wake up after long three months sleep. In these three months no religious work held as per Hindu religion and after Brahmotsav Hindus start every celebration because now they got blessing from God Vishnu.

This month of Kartik was very important among all Hindu and mainly among South Indian. In our town this month Maharaj Devki Nandan bhagwat katha organised by Marwari yuva samity and Shyam mandir committee. From 14 november to 20 november this Bhagwat katha was organised at Dhobi Ghat maidan in Kharagpur. On the inauguration day a kalash yatra was organised from Gole bazaar ram mandir to Shyam mandir , where every communities ladies participated.
