It is surely understood on account of authentic criticalness and grieving for the suffering of Husayn ibn Ali, the grandson of the Islamic prophet Muhammad at the Battle of Karbala in the year 61 AH (AD 680). It is a day of discourses, open parades, and incredible anguish. Men and ladies serenade and sob, grieving Husayn, his family, and his supporters. Addresses accentuate the significance of the qualities for which Husayn relinquished himself, his family, and his adherents. For a considerable length of time Shi'a travelers rushed here amid Muharram, a practice which was extremely restricted under the administration of Saddam Hussein.
