Ghatsila  is a town of east singhbhum district of Jharkhand and hardly 125 km far from kharagpur. Ghatsila is well connected with kharagpur and rest of the country through rail transport.It will take one and half hour in express train. Many passengers and students are going ghatsila for diffent purpose from kharagpur.There are many kharagpur students are enrolled in Ghatsila College every year.

Ghatsila College was establish in the year of 1967.The total 8000 students capacity with hostel facility.

Raja Jaganath built the rangini temple in galudih but due to some problem sift that in ghatsila and later constructed a kali temple there. This temple was later famous as rankini devi temple.

Ghatsila has many attractive natural and manmade views.

In all if you love nature and want to feel it from inside, Ghatshila is one of the best choices to make if you stay near to Kolkata or Ranchi.

 The city located in the bank of the river subrna rekha .Ghat sila means a rock on the bank of water body. Here you want the mixture of village and city life .Aam bagan area you get the picture of village, but on the other hand you find the Hindustan copper factory and the continue growing township. Here the people of different community and different languages are live together like, behari, bengoli, Punjabi, Marwari and Muslim.

Burudih Lake created on burudih dam and has a nice scenic beauty; many travelers from all parts of country reach here to watch the natural beauty. Here water sporting facility available for the visitors like pedal and motor boating. Sunrise and sunset is the main attraction of this place. Near about forest of the dam is also the corridor of elephant which stretch from dalma range to midnapore district of west Bengal.
