Rathyatra and Jagannaath Puja in Kharagpur

In kharagpur there is many rath yatra organized by different area like malancha and  inda but the famous yatra organized by the jaganaath mandir commity every year from 1988.In the year of 1988 god jaganaath,Balram and subhadra’s idols establish in the temple with all ritual .From 1988 to 2001 rathyatra organized with only a single chariot but from 2002 onward number of chariots increase to three. During the rath yatra a mela also organized near the temple and thousands of people from kharagpur and near about reach to take part in this festival. It’s my destiny that from last few years unable to attend this festival as because of my job.

From 2003 onwards special arrangement made for ladies to pull goddess subhadra’s chariot .Many cultural programme was also organized by mandir commity in this occasion like: odissi dance, Bharatnatyam, Kuchipudi, Vangra etc.
